Sailun is Developing Electric Vehicle-Specific Line

The ERANGE EV line will launch "with a wide range of sizes to cover nearly 90% of electric vehicles being sold today," according to Sailun officials.

Sailun Tire Group is developing the ERANGE EV, a new line that is specifically designed for electric vehicle applications.

The ERANGE EV line will launch "with a wide range of sizes to cover nearly 90% of electric vehicles being sold today," according to Sailun officials.

Tires in the line will feature advanced tread patterns and specially formulated compounds to "handle the instant torque of electric vehicles and deliver dynamic driving performance in various road conditions."

In addition, they will offer increased load-bearing capacity "to account for the extra weight of vehicle batteries, while also utilizing a reinforced sidewall design for crisp handling and cornering stability, compared to traditional tires;" Sailun's SilentTread staggered tuning technology and variable pitch sequence, which will provide a "quiet, comfortable and safe ride, backed by proven lab and road testing to meet the highest standards;" and low rolling resistance.

Sailun adds that ERANGE EV Tires will be manufactured using the company's EcoPoint3 Technology to optimize the balance between tread life and traction.

"The all-new EcoPoint3 Technology used to create the ERANGE EV lineup is a huge leap forward in technological advancement for the tire industry," says Peter Koszo, president of Sailun Tire Americas.

"ERANGE represents an enhanced driver experience for every EV owner, while still providing the excellent value our brand is known for," he adds.

Sailun is planning a formal announcement about the new line in late-2021.
