Tire Discounters Strengthens Marketing Team to Fuel Growth
Former Amazon and Procter & Gamble executive Chris Yapp is Tire Discounters Inc.'s new chief marketing officer. Yapp will oversee Tire Discounters' brand strategy and marketing initiatives, including the launch of its new Protect Your Legacy program.
"Adding Chris to our marketing team is the fuel we need for our aggressive growth plans," says Crissy Niese, senior vice president and chief customer officer, Tire Discounters.
"He brings exceptional marketing experience and skills that are the right combination for us at this stage of our growth, especially as we grow into new territories and leverage our national brand recognition."
Yapp most recently served as head of marketing for Amazon's Brilliance Publishing division.
Before joining Amazon, he held various brand management roles at Procter & Gamble, The Kellogg Co. and Scotts Miracle-Grow Co.
His appointment will allow Tire Discounters' veteran Abbey Dryden to focus on leading the dealership's digital marketing and customer support efforts.
The Tire Discounters "team is incredibly passionate and we're having a lot of fun along the way," says Yapp.
"What I'm here to do now is to expand our story and help strengthen our marketing execution across the stores and communities we operate in today. This is a brand with significant potential that is ready to be unleashed."
"Abbey's deep knowledge and expertise will help expand our legacy of outstanding customer service across all communication mediums, including digital, which is so critical to our aggressive growth plans," says Niese.
Tire Discounters' founder, Chip Wood, was the recipient of MTD's 2020 Tire Dealer of the Year Award.
Tire Discounters recently moved its combined office operations into a new, consolidated, 32,000-square-foot headquarters in downtown Cincinnati, Ohio.
The company has more than 140 locations across Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, Georgia, Tennessee and Alabama.
