Bridgestone's replacement tire sales during the first half "also recovered to a level on par with 2019," say company officials.

Bridgestone Corp. posted a 24.2% year-over-year increase in revenue and a 369.3% year-over-year increase in operating profit during the first six months of 2021.

Global tire demand during the first half of the year showed "dramatic recovery" at a pace that exceeded Bridgestone's expectations, according to company officials.

"In particular, demand for truck and bus tires and construction vehicle tires has grown significantly, underpinned by solid construction and transport demand."

Bridgestone adds that its replacement tire sales during the first half "also recovered to a level on par with 2019."
