ATD Expands Hercules Strong Guard Medium Truck Tire Line

Sept. 7, 2021

American Tire Distributors Inc. (ATD) has expanded its Hercules Strong Guard medium truck tire line with the new Strong Guard H-MD and H-MX tires for mixed-service applications, including construction, logging and mining.

"The Strong Guard H-MX is built for extreme traction and durability in the most severe service applications," say ATD officials. It features a proprietary tread design with a "lightning center groove for improved heat dissipation," as well as Trac-Ledges for optimal traction and mud/debris evacuation; a curb protector and stone ejectors; an optimized wide footprint and a wide tread design for enhanced tread life and improved performance; and more.

"The Strong Guard H-MD is available for operators that require versatility and durability on unpaved job sites, while providing improved handling and even wear on-road."

It features a deep 32/32-inch tread depth; a higher load-carrying capacity; a staggered, five-block tread design for optimal traction and handling; and more.

Both tires will be available in size 11R22.5 and size 11R24.5 sizes. The H-MD will be available in an extra size: 12R22.5.

“These two new premium tires will help fleet and other commercial truck owners lower their total cost of ownership,” says Marshall Gillespie, Hercules Tires manager of commercial and specialty proprietary brands.

“Each tire features our proprietary tread patterns and compounds to withstand the most severe conditions; improved protection and casing policies to provide longer tread life; and innovative technologies and wider treads. Combined, these new features will provide fleets and other commercial truck owners with a premium product, while helping them save money.”

The tires are backed by Hercules’ “Performance Promise" and come with an 84-month, limited protection policy for workmanship and materials and free replacement on the first 50% of usable tread.

"Each tire also carries a casing allowance for three retreads."

ATD is offering a $150 statement credit for the first eight tires purchased through the end of next month.
