Sun Auto Tire & Service Inc. is establishing a presence on the East Coast with its acquisition of Hogan & Sons, a seven-store tire dealership located in northern Virginia.

The purchase marks Sun Auto's official bid to be a coast-to-coast tire retailer, as its home base is in Arizona and up until now has been growing from its Southwest headquarters.

“Expanding our existing footprint and broadening our services, especially in a strong market, is fundamental to how we define our success at Sun Auto. Until now, our portfolio has traversed across multiple states in the South and Southwest, but the East Coast, specifically the Northern Virginia area, is the ideal market to introduce Sun Auto as the leading provider of quality aftermarket automotive repair, maintenance and tire services across the United States,” says Tony Puckett, the new CEO of Sun Auto Tire & Service. “Hogan and Sons has had an established presence in the area for almost 40 years, and we look forward to continuing to cultivate those long-term relationships with their customers.”

The seven stores, in Leesburg, Fairfax, Sterling, Herndon, Purcellville, Winchester and South Riding, span three counties in northern Virginia and have 54 service bays.

The purchase gives Sun Auto 214 tire and automotive service stores in six states: Virginia, Texas, Arizona, California, Oklahoma and Nevada.
