VIP Opens Another Store in Vermont
VIP Inc. has opened its fourth store in Vermont, a VIP Tires & Service location in Shelburne.
It marks the company's 65th location in New England.
“After seven months of construction, we’re excited to celebrate the opening of our fourth Vermont location,” says Tim Winkeler, president and CEO of VIP Tires & Service. “The Shelburne location is an entirely new build and will help better serve the residents in South Burlington, as well as Shelburne. This new location complements our other two locations in Williston and Burlington so we can provide a high-quality automotive care experience for everyone in the area that needs it. For any Vermonter seeking a reliable automotive professional to work on their car, come meet VIP’s skilled technicians and customer service professionals who will make your car care experience transparent, easy-to-understand, and helpful.”
While VIP typically renovates existing automotive locations into modern VIP stores, John Quirk, executive chairman of VIP saw the opportunity to purchase this high-traffic lot on Shelburne Road in February of 2021.
The lot now holds a 7,000 square-foot store with eight service bays with space to hold 2,000 tires. The store features an open-concept customer waiting area, laptop bar work stations, a coffee and tea bar and renovated restrooms.
Keith Lawrence and Jason Currie, Master technicians at the Williston, Vt., location will move to work at the new Shelbourne location. Both were longtime Sears Auto Center technicians and they joined VIP during the winter when Sears closed its Burlington location. They have both been working at VIP’s Williston location in preparation for transferring to the Shelburne location once it opened.
When VIP’s Shelburne location is fully staffed, customers will be greeted by a six-person team including a manager, an assistant manager, Lawrence and Currie, and two installation technicians.
As part of the store opening VIP is offering consumers a buy three tires, get the fourth free on all brands and sizes. Plus, from Sept. 30 to Nov. 11, VIP will host the Oil Changes for Education program where every oil change will cost just $10 and 100% of the proceeds will go to local Shelburne schools.
