Balkrishna Industries Ltd.'s (BKT) newest plant has started production. The Waluj, India, facility represents an investment of $56 million and manufactures tires designed for agricultural and industrial applications.
BKT officials say the greenfield facility, which covers more than 22 acres, has an annual production capacity of around 30,000 metric tons.
Five hundred people will work at the plant when it's operating at full capacity.
BKT Chairman and Managing Director Arvind Poddar says BKT is committed to growth. "Looking ahead is our constant goal. A company which cannot boldly look toward its future is like a person who cannot dream."
