BKT Continues to Invest in Manufacturing Capacity, Growth

Nov. 4, 2021

Balkrishna Industries Ltd. (BKT) continues to invest in expanding its manufacturing capacity, which will help the company fuel further growth.

The past 18 months have been a challenge for many due to raw material shortages and logistics issues, but BKT has worked together as a team to become stronger despite the hardships.

BKT has invested in all of its plants to expand capacity, modernize equipment and improve quality. Because of this, BKT is able to experience growth and manufacture and produce products above last year’s levels.

In September, a new plant opened in Aurangabad, India, to produce medium and small diameter agricultural and industrial tires.

The company’s flagship plant in Bhuj, India, has expanded to add a super solid tire plant, an ultra large OTR plant for up to 63-inch tires and is doubling the capacity of the carbon black plant.

In April 2022, one more new agricultural radial tire plant will open to give BKT the largest ag tire radial capacity in the world.

In addition, the company has invested in a state-of-the-art auditorium and training center at its Mumbai headquarters and at the Bhuj factory.

Additionally, a new sports arena opened in Bhuj and the technical department will have a new 3D printer that will help create tire prototypes to help in the development of new patterns.

BKT has added 100 new SKUs to its lineup and many more are in the planning stage.

The company’s 57-inch OTR tire for rigid haul trucks is now being tested in India.

BKT is always preparing for the ever-changing market to develop new solutions to best meet the needs of the end users.
