Tireco Goes Even Bigger With New Milestar Patagonia M/T Tire

Nov. 2, 2021

Tireco Inc. invested five years of development into the new Milestar Patagonia M/T-02, and the updated tire will be available in 32 sizes, including the brand's tallest option,  a 42X14.5R20LT.

The new M/T-02 holds much of the original M/T design, yet integrates all-new internal tire technologies with finite adjustments. Tireco says it's engineered to be stronger, tougher and more pliable when rock crawling than its predecessor. But the tire maintains its smooth and quiet characteristics as well.

The updated tread design now integrates cross-directional siping to improve tread block strength and resilience with a more stable footprint while reducing the risk of chunking. The Patagonia M/T-02 features Milestar's MileTech three-ply sidewall with extra rigidity for sidewall durability. Even with that extra strength, the company says the tire remains pliable and flexible for "aired-down bite and off-road grip."

A newly formulated tread compound includes cut and chip resistance and allows for longer tread life without sacrificing off=road traction.

The Patagonia M/T-02 will be available in 32 sizes including popular OEM and high-flotation sizes, from 15 inches to 22 inches and up to F-Load Rating depending on the size. It will be available in an up to 42-inch overall diameter and 22-inch wheel diameters.

The tire will launch with "some key sizes" during the fourth quarter of 2021. Among the popular sizes available will be:  LT285/70R17, 37X12.5R17LT and 42X14.5R20LT.

“The Patagonia M/T-02 is five years in the making. After a successful launch of the original M/T, we dived head first into making it even better!” stated Andrew Hoit, Tireco’s vice president of sales and marketing. We are truly committed to improving our product reliability and quality, and the M/T-02 is a continued step in key product advancement.”
