Tire Discounters Raises More Than $130,000 for WWP

Nov. 11, 2021

Tire Discounters Inc. has raised $131,095 for Wounded Warrior Project (WWP), a non-profit that provides services to injured veterans and their families.

The amount is a "fundraising record" for Tire Discounters, according to a statement from the Cincinnati, Ohio-based dealership, which has nearly 150 locations.

"Tire Discounters’ customers collectively donated $109,343.06, more than doubling the original goal of $50,000, and Tire Discounters donated an additional $21,752 as part of the 'It’s Our Turn' fundraiser in September."

A Tire Discounters store Georgesville, Ohio, collected the most customer donations of all Tire Discounters locations. A Veterans Day check presentation was held at the location on Nov. 11 with Anna Wood, managing director of Tire Discounters; Chad Hiser, U.S. Coast Guard and Marine Corps veteran and WWP representative; and Steve Shaw, the outlet's general manager, present.

“Wounded Warrior Project is a cause that hits very close to home for Tire Discounters, as demonstrated by our continued support through past donations and employing many reservists, active veterans and their spouses at our locations,” says Charles Curlee, Tire Discounters vice president of retail sales and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.

“But to have our expectations for this fundraiser completely blown away thanks to tremendous customer support makes this particular donation incredibly special. Thank you to everyone who participated and allowed us to continue to support the men and women who have sacrificed to keep us safe.”

“We can’t provide life-saving programs and services to injured veterans and their families without supporters like Tire Discounters and all of their amazing customers,” says WWP Vice President of Resource Development Brea Kratzert Todd. “We’re grateful for their support as we collectively honor and empower warriors.”

Tire Discounters has extended its support to WWP on behalf of its customers and employees for the last three years, donating a total of $175,000 since 2019.

The dealership, which was founded by 2020 MTD Tire Dealer of the Year Award winner Chip Wood, employs many U.S. Army, Marine Corps, Coast Guard and Air Force veterans.
