Pirelli Designs P Zero Tire for Hyundai Kona N

Nov. 18, 2021

Pirelli Tire North America Inc. has developed a P Zero tire as an original equipment fitment for Hyundai's Kona N, the automaker's first SUV in its "sporting N" division.

The P Zero tires in 235/40R19 96 Y size were designed to enhance track performance and safety, while also increasing driving pleasure on the road. The automaker and tiremaker conducted joint tests on the Nurburgring, as well as on the Namyang track in Korea over the course of a year.

The tire minimizes road noise while maximizing "on-board comfort" as well as the car's performance qualities. The tire also offers maximum wet braking performance, along with durability, handling and comfort. The "HN" marking on the sidewall notes its design tailored to Hyundai's N line.

Pirelli's P Zero tires are ultra-high performance tires that evolve from its history in racing. The tiremaker says that matches Hyundai's history in racing, where it has used the World Rally Championship as its "open-air laboratory to try out new technologies that then find their way onto the road."
