Nov. 23, 2021

Bridgestone Corp., parent company of Bridgestone Americas Inc., achieved a 168% increase in year-over-year operating profit during the third quarter of 2021.

During the same period, the Tokyo, Japan-based company grew its year-over-year revenue by 19.8%.

Bridgestone posted a 369.3% year-over-year increase in operating profit and a 24.2% jump in revenue during the first half of 2021.

At the time, company officials said that global demand during the first six months showed "dramatic recovery" at a pace that exceeded its projections.

In particular, demand for truck, bus and construction tires grew "significantly."

Last week, Scott Damon, chief operating officer at Bridgestone Americas, told dealers that the division's tire shipments "are up 15% versus last year."
