Frederick, Md.-based Rice Tire Co. has acquired the tire business and service center of American Fleet Services, a commercial truck tire dealership that serves the Richmond, Va., market.
The deal includes a store in Ashland, Va., which becomes Rice Tire's 12th location. The addition of the outlet expands Rice Tire's service capabilities along Interstate 95, a major north-to-south corridor.
The location will be run by Store Manager John Brookins and will be overseen by Regional Manager Mike Anderson.
Rice Tire sells Michelin, Goodyear, Continental, General, Falken and Galaxy brand products, among others.
The company also operates two Goodyear retread plants.
