Sept. 23, 2022

American Tire Distributors Inc. (ATD) is celebrating the 70th anniversary of its Hercules brand with a social media giveaway, opportunities for consumers to win Hercules-branded merchandise and more.

Hercules tire buyers are encouraged to submit photos of their Hercules products with the hashtag #Hercules70.

ATD also plans to celebrate the Hercules brand's anniversary via its Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts.

The Hercules Tire & Rubber Co. was founded as a collective of independent tire dealers in 1952. ATD acquired Hercules in 2014.

Earlier this year, as part of Hercules' 70th anniversary, ATD refreshed the branding of its Hercules and Ironman lines.

The company also has introduced a number of Hercules brand products during 2022, including the the Hercules TIS UT1, a tire that was specifically designed for UTV and side-by-side vehicles; the Hercules AG-TRAC RT45 ag tire; the Hercules Strong Guard H-MA, a mixed-service, all-position commercial truck tire; the Hercules Strong Guard ST, a high-speed radial trailer tire designed for fifth-wheel RVs, utility trailers and other applications; and the Hercules Strong Guard H-LS, a steer tire for long-haul and super-regional applications.

"We have seen Hercules continue to grow by expanding the breadth of its products, the depth of its SKUs and its coverage across the country," says ATD President and CEO Stuart Schuette.

The Hercules Power and Hercules Flex programs together encompass 4,000 retail locations across the United States and Canada.

"Investments in marketing continue to grow brand awareness via grassroots events, sponsorships and television partnerships, along with digital and social media," according to ATD officials.

"There is a lot of opportunity for Hercules to continue its growth path," notes Josh Simpson, Hercules president. "As we continue to focus on marketing to grow brand awareness in tandem with enhancing our product portfolio, we're truly set up to be successful in the industry for the long haul."
