The Maxam MS302 in size 29.5R25 has been approved by Caterpillar Inc. as an original equipment tire option on Cat 740 GC articulated dump trucks.
Maxam Tire North America officials say the fitment "marks a major a leap forward" for it in the OTR tire segment.
"Manufactured in a state-of-the-art facility with advanced engineering and superior design, the MS302 delivers a high-quality and versatile solution to the market," say Maxam officials.
The tire has been engineered "for the toughest applications, delivering superior traction and high resistance to wear and cut."
Troy Kline, Maxam Tire North America's president, says the "addition of the MS302 29.5R25 to Caterpillar's OEM option for the 740 GC articulated dump truck further solidifies Maxam's commitment to providing the industry with effective business solutions."
Maxam also supplies MS302 tires as factory options on the Cat 950M, 966M, 972M, 980M and 982M in certain regions, with plans to increase products for Cat vehicles in the future.
