Omni United Plans for an EV Future

Nov. 14, 2022

Omni United (S) Pte. Ltd. is planning for the electric vehicle future with a two-pronged approach. The first step will come in early 2023 and will involve the company's existing Radar Tire patterns that are EV-compatible. The second step will include a partnership with GFG Style to create a new line of Radar Tires specifically for EVs.

The first phase will include the company's tires that are already designed to offer lower rolling resistance for improved range, and tires with a wear-resistant compound to accommodate an EV's higher torque. The North American all-season products are expected to launch in the first quarter of next year.

In the second phase Omni United will work with the Italian automotive design house for its second collaboration. These tires will cater to EV fitments and their needs — reduced rolling resistance, higher load carrying capabilities, a wear-resistant compound and reduced noise levels.

This range will feature a summer tire pattern that will first launch in the European market in 16 sizes for wheels ranging from 18 to 21 inches. The sizes will be launched throughout 2023.

“Omni United has always taken a unique and forward-thinking approach to sustainability with our Radar brand being the first tire brand to be manufactured carbon neutral since 2013,” says GS Sareen, president and CEO of Omni United. “As the automotive industry is making strides to shift towards a more sustainable future we want to continue investing in a cause that we have believed in since more than a decade back. We want our dealers and consumers to have access not only to sustainable mobility solutions but also stress on the importance of a product that meets the growing electric vehicle market needs while leveraging cutting-edge style and design.”
