Two new sizes in the AgriTerra 02 line from Mitas will provide coverage for additional agricultural equipment, including self-propelled windrowers for harvesting of certain crops and grass.
Size 620/75R26 is the result of demand from the North American market, and is intended for self-propelled windrowers for two-phase harvesting of various types of crops and grass.
The other new size, 620/40R22.5, is primarily for the European market, to fit on smaller, towed agricultural machinery such as balers, green fodder harvesters, spreaders, and similar equipment.
Mitas says the demand for both sizes came from the original equipment market.
The tires can handle a high load capacity and a maximum speed of up to 65 km/h, which helps to reduce the number of trips needed to move cargo, while also making on-road moves more quickly. The tire also offers low rolling resistance and an 8% savings on fuel consumption, the company says.
The AgriTerra 02 work for both on-road and off-road operations. The open shoulder tread area allows for good self-cleaning, resulting in a 17% decrease in muddying of the road.
Originally launched in the market in 2015, the AgriTerra 02 tire range now includes 14 sizes for wheels ranging from 22.5 inches to 30.5 inches.
