Matt Field Wins In Fort Worth

Sept. 12, 2016

Field’s first-ever first-place finish notches back-to-back event wins for Falken, following Aurimas “Odi” Bakchis’ win at Evergeen Speedway in August. This is also Falken’s third consecutive visit to the podium this season.

“We couldn’t be happier for Matt and our Falken team,” said Steve Wong, Supervisor, Motorsports and Events for Falken. “We knew we had the drivers and the tires to get to the top this season.  With Matt’s win, and our third straight trip to the podium, we were proven right. The new course configuration made the track fast and challenging for these drivers, but our AZENIS line delivered. We’re confident we’ll see more of these top finishes for our drivers.”

Field praised the performance of his tires as he celebrated his victory.

“FINALLY!” said Field. “The car performed flawlessly this weekend and the Falken Tires gave me the grip and consistency I needed to get onto the top step of the podium. It’s been a long time coming and a sigh of relief to get my first victory with Team Falken.”

Field’s win moves him into 5th place in the championship rankings, just behind teammate Odi Bakchis in 4th place. Dai Yoshihara in 7th and Tyler McQuarrie in 10th rounds out the Falken drivers in the top 10 of the championship standings after this weekend’s event.

The next round of the 2016 Formula Drift Championship will be held at Irwindale Speedway in California from Friday, Oct. 7 – Saturday, Oct. 8
