The Off-Road Championship Presented By AMSOIL Races At Charlotte

Aug. 18, 2016

The Off-Road Championship presented by AMSOIL (TORC) returns to the Dirt Track at Charlotte Motor Speedway this Friday and Saturday for two exciting evenings of high flying short-course truck racing.

The doubleheader features TORC Series racing in three classes both Friday and Saturday: the roaring, four-wheel drive PRO 4WD trucks, the 900 horsepower rear-wheel drive PRO 2WD machines, and the fiercely competitive Atturo Tire PRO Lights. And this weekend for the first time, the TORC Series is supported by SPEED Energy Stadium SUPER Trucks Presented by TRAXXAS as the 650 horsepower machines return to the dirt for a pair of points scoring races.

"We're thrilled to have Robby Gordon's Stadium SUPER Trucks racing with us in Charlotte," said TORC Series Chief Operating Officer Dave Swanwick. "As we develop and grow the TORC Series into the future under our new ownership, it's exciting to bring new elements to our show and we know our fans are going to love this double bill."

With three races remaining in the TORC Series national championship, double defending champion CJ Greaves leads both the PRO 4WD and PRO 2WD classes, while Kyle Hart sits atop the standings in Atturo Tire PRO Light. After six of 12 stops on the Stadium SUPER Trucks schedule, Sheldon Creed is in the lead.

New to the TORC Series this weekend is guest driver Earl Bamber, a sports car racer and 2015 winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans for Porsche. He will race in the PRO 4WD category with the team fielded by series regular Mark Kvamme. Superbike racer Larry Pegram is also expected to return to the series.

It is an exciting return to the dirt for Stadium Super Trucks drivers, which most recently raced on asphalt in Toronto as a support series to the IndyCar race held there last month.
