TIA Takes ATS Class to Auburn, Wash.

The Tire Industry Association (TIA) is taking its Certified Automotive Training Service (ATS) Instructor class to Auburn, Wash., Aug. 30-Sept. 2, 2016.

The four-day class will be held at Green River Community College. TIA says in-depth instruction will be provided on a number of topics related to the servicing of passenger and light truck tires. Topics include:

  • vehicle lifting;
  • lug nut torque procedures;
  • demounting, mounting and inflation guidelines;
  • balance techniques;
  • tire repair procedures;
  • tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) identification;
  • TPMS sensor service;
  • TPMS relearn procedures (domestic and import); and
  • TPMS diagnostics.

The Certified ATS Instructor class is a combination of classroom and hands-on instruction. It covers all of the industry guidelines from TIA, the Rubber Manufacturers Association, the Automotive Lift Institute and the Tire and Rim Association.

Following the training and successful completion of the Final Exam, students are recognized as TIA Certified ATS Instructors which gives them the credentials to return to the dealership to train and certify technicians. For more information, contact Chris Hoggenboom at [email protected].
