First Asian Retread Conference Set for October 2016

The tire retreading industry is coming under focus in Asia for the first time with the first Asian Retread Conference (ARC), which will be held Oct. 4-5, 2016, in Kuala Lumpur.

The Tire Retread & Repair Information Bureau (TRIB) is partnering with Asian Business Media (ABM) and Epic Fresh, Malaysia as organizers of the event, which will focus on some of the most relevant issues concerning tire retreading. It will be held at the Sime Darby Convention Centre.

A global line-up of experts from the retreading industry will be addressing ARC, which has adopted the theme “Go Green: Retread, Rebuild & Recap.” Some of the subjects to be presented during the five technical sessions across two days will be on road safety; aviation tire management; how the retreading industry can face up to the challenge of budget new tires; increasing the life of envelopes; tire retreading machinery; tire retreading process: from craftsmanship to industrial process; the extrusion-smearing method for applying retread cushion gum compared with alternative methods; the positive commercial impact of shearography on retreading; applications of Ekoprena for green tire manufacturing, green processing for green retreading; the benefits of bead-to-bead retreading in a changing market; and the challenges of cheap tires vis-à-vis retread and new tires: the Indian experience.
