Goodyear names Winterton director field sales, consumer tires

Jack Winterton, previously general marketing manager, Kelly Brands, has been named director of field sales for Goodyear's North American Tire consumer tire division. The move is effective July 15.

He replaces Mike Abney, previously director of field sales across all brands, who has been named director, strategic sales programs. Abney now will focus on specific customers to achieve targeted sales goals, says the company.

Winterton will work with the Kelly team during the transition, the company notes. His replacement has not yet been named.

Winterton started with Ameron Automotive Centers, a Kelly-Springfield division, in 1973. He was promoted into Kelly in 1980 as product manager for auto tires. He served as general sales manager for the Kelly brand prior to moving from Cumberland, Md., to Goodyear's Akron, Ohio, headquarters in 1996.
