Goodyear Tire Notes: Talladega

April 27, 2016

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, Race No. 10 – Geico 500
NASCAR Xfinity  Series, Race No. 9 – Sparks Energy 300
Talladega Superspeedway (2.66-mile oval) – Talladega, Ala., April 29-May 1, 2016

Teams in both the NASCAR Sprint Cup and Xfinity Series will run the same tire set-up at Talladega this weekend. For Sprint Cup teams, this combination of left- and right-side tires dates back to October 2014.  The Xfinity teams, since they don’t run at Talladega in the fall, started running this tire set-up in May 2015.  Both of these series also ran this left-side code at Daytona in February.

On all NASCAR ovals greater than one mile in length, teams are required to run inner liners in all four tire positions at Talladega, air pressure in those inner liners should be 12-25 psi greater than that of the outer tire.
