Need a copy of an invoice? Go to a copy machine. Need a new car? Do the same thing.

Manufacturing a vehicle using a printer, in this case a 3-D printer, may seem impossible, but it's about to become a reality. In his latest blog, Modern Tire Dealer Editor Bob Ulrich looks at the LM3D series vehicle from Local Motors.

Ulrich didn't have to do much research for this blog: He "borrowed" heavily from Thi Dao, executive editor of MTD's sister publication, Government Fleet, who wrote about 3-D-printed vehicles in her April issue.

When can you expect a 3-D-printed vehicle in your service bay? How Is it even possible tires could be 3-D-printed?

For the answers, check out "3-D-Printed Vehicles Are just Around the Corner."

Will 3-D-printed vehicles ever be more than a novelty in our industry? Read the blog, then let us know what you think by leaving a comment!
