Wholesale distributor Commercial Tire Sales of Fresno, Calif., held a customer appreciation day and trade show on April 7, 2016, to celebrate 50 years in business.
More than 220 customers gathered at the Commercial Tire warehouse in Fresno to enjoy entertainment, prizes, and product discounts and specials at the trade show sponsored by manufacturers.
The iconic Grave Digger Monster Truck sponsored by Balkrishna Industries Ltd. (BKT) was a popular attraction for Commercial Tire Sales' guests.
Trade show vendors included American Omni, Alliance Tire Group, BKT, ContiTech, CMA, Greenball Corp., GTC North America, Michelin, Specialty Tire of America, Strategic Import Supply, Titan International, and Toyo.
A Mexican cruise, 65-inch big screen TV, tickets to LA Dodgers versus Giants baseball game, LA Lakers Jersey signed by Kobe Bryant, were among the prizes guests received.
The company is getting a jump on its 51st year by expanding its service area and adding a warehouse within the next few weeks. Commercial Tire Sales is a premier specialty tire wholesale tire distributor offering delivery services for Northern California, the Central Coast and beginning in May, Southern California.
Also in May, Commercial Tire will open a 30,000-square-foot warehouse in Fontana, Calif., offering a wholesale delivery option for customers in Southern California and Western Arizona. The company's warehouse in Fresno measures 90,000 square feet.
Commercial Tire Sales is a corporation owned by a farming family co-op in the Central Valley. The co-op began with the purchase of Corcoran Tire, a retail store in Corcoran, Calif., in 1965. Commercial Tire Sales in Fresno, which was another retail outlet, was purchased in 1975.
By the late 1980s, the business had evolved into a wholesale distribution warehouse, and the retail stores were closed.
Commercial Tire moved into its current warehouse in 2003 and quickly expanded as sales continued to grow. In 2008, Commercial Tire Sales purchased Central Cal Tire from Schoettler Tire and brought their sales staff, adding to the growing passenger and light truck wholesale market in the Central Valley.
Today, Corcoran Tire & Recapping Inc., goes to market as Commercial Tire Sales. Verdo Gregory is the managing partner, and Russ Roberts is the general manager.
