Feb. 18, 2016

East Bay Tire Co. (EBT) has expanded to Arizona with its purchase of the business assets and inventory of Lamar Bros., which does business as Lamar Brothers Tire Service in Salinas, Calif., and Yuma, Ariz.

Lamar Bros. opened in 1927 to provide service to local farmers and grew its business to serve the entire Salinas Valley and central coast communities of Watsonville, Gilroy, Hollister, Greenfield, and King City.

“EBT and Lamar Bros. share similar values that will continue to thrive. Being in business for 70 years, EBT can provide the expertise necessary to continue delivering the same standard of service Lamar Bros. customers have come to know,” says Pehanick.

East Bay Tire says establishing business in Salinas further confirms its focus on providing excellent service to customers and offering the widest selection of tires and tire products throughout northern and central California.

The Salinas location will provide a range of services that include alignments, brake service and 24-hour road service.

“Conducting business in Salinas and welcoming Lamar Bros. customers to East Bay Tire is meaningful to me because of the long business friendship that I have shared with Herman Champlin, Lamar Bros. founder, and his wife Carol Champlin,” says George Pehanick, CEO of East Bay Tire.

With the acquisition of Lamar Bros., East Bay Tire now operates:

* 8 commercial locations and 2 wholesale outlets in California;

* 3 commercial locations, 1 wholesale outlet and 1 retread plant in Hawaii; and

* 1 commercial location in Arizona.
