Tire Kingdom opens four more stores

May 23, 2002

Riviera Beach, Fla.-based Tire Kingdom Inc. has opened four new stores, two in North Carolina and two in Louisiana.

The outlets -- in Charlotte and Concord, N.C., and Hammond and Luling, La. -- have eight bays each and "offer our standard menu of tires and services," says Bob Patron, Tire Kingdom's head of new store operations.

The openings bring Tire Kingdom's total store count up to 208, making it the third largest independent tire store chain in North America, according to Modern Tire Dealer statistics.

Patron says the chain is getting ready to open some outlets in the Jacksonville, Fla., area, "which is an expansion market. We are in a growth mode."

Tire Kingdom acquired Mueller Tire & Brake, a 19-store chain based in Cleveland, Ohio, in late February.
