Pirelli SpA's new P6 Four Seasons tire is designed specifically for the North American market and is available in 12 sizes.
It will eventually be available in 42 sizes, Pirelli officials told tire dealers yesterday in Milan, Italy.
The H- and V-rated tire is a hybrid of Pirelli's snow and summer tire technologies.
It contains a 100% silica compound, an assymetric tread pattern and more than 1,000 lateral sipes, according to Pirelli officials.
The P6 Four Seasons is OE on the Audi A4 and BMW's 3 and 5 Series cars.
Also new from Pirelli is the P Zero Nero, a passenger tire designed for the tuner market.
Introduced worldwide in February, the tire fits up to 19-inch wheels and contains aquachannels, plus an assymetrical tread design.
It is the latest addition to Pirelli's P Zero family.
