Engle Tire calls it quits

One of Rhode Island´s oldest independent tire dealerships will close its doors at the end of the month.

Providence, R.I.-based Engle Tire Co. will cease to exist on Dec. 23 after 75 years in business, Engle Tire spokesman David Engle told moderntiredealer.com this afternoon.

Engle Tire President Melvin Engle, age 84, and Engle Tire Vice President Bobby Engle, 70, have decided to retire, he says.

Dunkin Donuts has agreed to lease the dealership´s location from the Engle family.

Engle Tire sells Goodyear and Kelly brand tires.
