Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. recently named Marcus Hancock manager of sport utility vehicle/light truck tire development. His responsibilities include managing and leading the development of new SUV and light truck products for the North American market.
Hancock joined Cooper-Avon Tyres in Melksham, England, in 1989 as a technical assistant in tire design and development. He also has worked as design engineer and senior design engineer at Cooper-Avon, and as senior development engineer of performance tires at the Cooper tire plant in Findlay, Ohio.
Hancock holds a degree in polymer science and engineering from Brunel University in London, England, and a master’s in business administration from Bowling Green (Ohio) State University. He was granted the RH Craven Award by the Institute of Materials.
