Vredestein introduces Ultrac Z-rated tire

May 9, 2002

Vredestein has introduced the Ultrac, a Z-rated ultra-high performance tire and the second tire to be created in partnership with Giugiaro Design.

Its directional tread design resembles the veins of a leaf, the company says, and is "so imbued with style and class that it perfectly matches the needs of trendy morotists in the top segment."

It incorporates the company's Ultimate Handling Construction (UHC) -- a sturdy sidewall and bead design combined with a wide belt for "ultra-alert steering, superb handling and a high driving stability," says the company.

Circumferential gooves help evacuate water and the tread compound provides grip and ultra-low rolling resistance.

It also has Vredestein's Centre Shift System (CSS), which slightly shifts the right and left parts in relation to the tire's center section, helping to minimize noise, says the company. Exxpro added to the sidewall compound ensures the sidewalls retain a deep black color.

It is now available in three 45-series and five 40-series sizes, with two more 45-series and two 35-series sizes to come.
