SEMA, DAY ONE: Hankook unveils truck and bus radials

Nov. 2, 2004

Hankook Tire America Corp. has introduced three truck and bus radial tires for short-haul to long-distance trucking applications.

The AM02C all-position, wide-base tire was developed to offer long mileage and traction in mixed conditions. The tread compound and four-belt structure offer durability, while the powerful shoulders offer added sidewall protection, the company says. Applied tie bands prevent irregular wear and reduce noise while the square shoulder shape ensures optimal road contact.

New to the Hankook TBR lineup is the AM06 on- and off-road all-position tire. The AM06 offers traction in all driving conditions and has a tread design that expels stones to extend the life of the tire. The square shoulder shape and contact pressure provide wear resistance, while the surface grooves provide water drainage.

And Hankook´s new DM04 off-road drive-position tire has deep, wide treads for high mobility. Powerful construction ensures durability and long life, while the open shoulder offers agile maneuvering, says the company. Large tread blocks and a special compound resist cuts and penetrations. A rugged, four steel belt structure allows maximum loads while providing fuel efficiency and high mileage.
