Bridgestone/Firestone Americas Holding Co.'s LaVergne, Tenn., plant has been awarded for "outstanding quality and delivery" by New United Motor Manufacturing Inc. (NUMMI), a joint venture between General Motors Corp. and Toyota Motor Corp.
NUMMI was formed in 1984.
Bridgestone/Firestone's LaVergne plant makes more than 13,000 passenger and six thousand truck tires per day at top capacity, according to Modern Tire Dealer data.
