Asahiko "Duke" Nishiyama will replace Yuji Tomiyasu as vice chairman and president of Bridgestone Americas Holding Inc. (BSAH) and Bridgestone/Firestone North American Tire LLC, effective Jan. 1.
Tomiyasu is returning to Japan due to health reasons, where he is expected to eventually take on a new assignment. He has been with Bridgestone for 30 years.
Nishiyama is currently director of Americas and Europe Operations for Bridgestone Corp., the parent company of BSAH.
He started with the company in 1977 and has held a variety of positions along the way. He also will be elected executive vice president of BSAH, according to Bridgestone/Firestone officials.
