Continental Tire North America Inc. (CTNA) officials say the company´s newest tire for the North American market, the ContiSportContact 2 Vmax, is approved for road speeds of up to 220 mph.
The tire is based on CTNA´s ContiSportContact 2. "To improve high-speed capability, Continental engineers incorporated more tread grooves to attain maximum cooling, even when traveling at highest speeds."
The ContiSportContact 2 Vmax comes in four sizes: 245/35ZR19, 275/30ZR19, 235/35ZR19 and 315/25ZR19. It targets "ultra high-speed cars" like the Porsche and Ferrari, according to CTNA officials.
