Following yearlong negotiations, General Motors Corp. has awarded Maxxis International a multi-year original equipment contract.
According to the agreement, Maxxis will supply its Maxxis brand light truck tire, in size LT225/75R16, "to a General Motors vehicle program" starting in the third quarter of 2006.
The contract is not the first between Maxxis and General Motors. Maxxis supplies tires to Shanghai General Motors in China and has been a winner of Shanghai GM’s "Best Supplier Award" for four consecutive years. Maxxis supplies tires to Ford, Toyota and Nissan in Asia as well.
In North America, Maxxis supplies mini-spares to Ford Motor Co. in both Canada and the United States.
