July 2, 2004

Carlisle Companies Inc. has acquired Trintex Corp., a manufacturer of semi-pneumatic lawn and garden and industrial tires.

"The acquisition of Trintex fits our strategy of allocating resources to businesses where Carlisle has leadership," says CEO and President Richmond McKinnish. "Trintex is a good addition to our portfolio as it extends our product line offering to the specialty tire and wheel markets."

Carlisle estimates that Trintex, based in Bowdon, Ga., has annual revenues of $33 million.

In addition to the specialty tire and wheel market, Carlisle also serves the automotive, construction materials, commercial roofing, power transmission, food service, data transmission and process systems industries.

Its Carlisle Tire & Wheel Co. subsidiary has two tire manufacturing facilities, including its original plant in Carlisle, Pa. Its Clinton, Tenn., plant is the former Dico facility.

Between the two plants, Carlisle has the capacity to manufacture 41,000 tires a day, according to Modern Tire Dealer's 2004 Facts Issue.
