Car Care Council offers "Be Car Care Aware" kits

June 23, 2004

The Car Care Council’s "Be Car Care Aware" point-of-sale starter kits are available through www.carcare.org. The kits help repair shops remind motorists to maintain their vehicles.

"Now that the summer travel season is upon us, there’s no better way to help increase traffic to your business than by using the starter kit marketing and promotional materials to offer pre-vacation vehicle checkups," says Rich White, executive director of the Car Care Council.

The kit features "Be Car Care Aware" signage, consumer education materials and the industry’s first comprehensive Service Interval Schedule, according to White. The schedule helps consumers track regular vehicle servicing by taking the guesswork out of what vehicle systems need to be routinely inspected and when service or repair should be performed.

To view the contents and order a starter kit, visit the Car Care Council’s Web site at www.carcare.org. As a bonus, shops that purchase the kits will be included in the "Find A Shop" locator on the Web site.
