Marangoni looks to capacity expansion

June 22, 2004

Production capacity at Marangoni Tread North America Inc.'s (MTNA) new Ringtread plant in Madison, Tenn., is scheduled to double by 2006.

The $10 million facility started producing tread in late April.

An official ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Marangonia SpA officials from the company's home base in Verona, Italy, was held late last week.

The factory currently contains six presses that can manufacture 720 Ringtreads per day at full throttle, according to Marangoni officials.

The plant gives Marangoni "the capacity we need to start shortening the supply line," MTNA President Bill Sweatman said in an interview that appears in this month's issue of Modern Tire Dealer.
