Michelin announces commercial tire price increases

May 17, 2004

Michelin North America Inc. will increase prices on its replacement and original equipment truck and earthmover tires by 3% to 8% depending on sizes.

The increases will go into effect on July 1 for earthmover tires and Aug. 1 for truck tires.

In April, the company's MAST (Michelin Americas Small Tires) division announced it would boost prices on Michelin, BFGoodrich, Uniroyal, private and associate brand replacement passenger and light truck tires by an average of 3% on July 5.

According to MAST officials, the increases on consumer tires will apply only to tires sold in the United States market.
