Goodyear Assurance spots debut today

Today marks the launch of one of the most intensive media campaigns in Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. history.

Television commercials for Goodyear's Assurance line are appearing on ABC, CBS and NBC, as well as cable stations like ESPN, MSNBC, TBS, The History Channel, The Discovery Channel and others.

The 30-second spots highlight the "any-weather" capabilities of Assurance's TripleTred technology, say Goodyear officials, and will run during several highly rated programs.

"This is Goodyear's biggest advertising campaign since the launch of the original Aquatred tire in 1992," says Mike Kitz, Goodyear's vice president, marketing and brand management.

In addition, a "mini-film" touting the Assurance line is scheduled to hit movie theaters next week in Goodyear's first attempt at marketing via that medium.
