Kumho begins 'ASX-TREME Sweepstakes'

A new sweepstakes by Kumho Tire U.S.A. Inc. is designed to promote the Ecsta ASX, the

company’s ultra-high performance all-season tire.

Kumho will give away more than 1,100 prizes during the "ASXTREME Sweepstakes," with the grand prize a customized Mini Cooper S. Other prizes include 10 sets of Ecsta ASX tires, 100

roadside emergency kits, and 1,000 Kumho CD cases.

The Mini Cooper S, valued at $25,000 will include a set of Ecsta ASX tires, 17-inch BBS wheels, a Supersprint performance exhaust system and H&R performance springs and sway bars.

The ASXTREME Sweepstakes will run from now through September 30, 2004.

Kumho is supporting the event with promo kits that include tire inserts, banners and counter cards with entry forms. The free promo kits were

sent out to more than 3,000 Kumho dealers this week.

No purchase is necessary to enter, according to the company.

"We’ve taken a new direction with our marketing efforts in 2004 and are focusing on grassroots motorsports and the UHP (ultra-high performance) market," says Mike Leverington, director of marketing. "We’ve previously conducted sales promos but have never done a sweepstakes like this."

Kumho launched the Ecsta ASX at ESPN’s Winter X Games VIII in Aspen, Colo., in late January.
