The new BFGoodrich Control Plus broad-line tire is being distributed through the domestic tire dealer channel.
The Control Plus line is available in 30 sizes ranging from 13 to 16 inches. The S- and T-rated tires also are available in both whitewall and blackwall designs. According to Michelin North America Inc., the sizes cover approximately 58% of all passenger cars.
"The Control Plus tire provides our dealers with a tire that covers a vast majority of sizes and vehicles and supports our strategy of streamlining the brand's mass market product offering," says Thom Peebles, BFGoodrich tire brand director.
The Control Plus tire features the following:
* a 65,000-mile limited tread life warranty.
* free roadside assistance.
* all-weather control.
* all-season traction.
* long mileage and even wear.
* smooth ride and predictable handling
The Control Plus replaces the Control T/A M80 and the Control T/A M65.
The launching of the BFGoodrich Traction T/A line in October 2003 was directed at the original equipment and replacement T-, H- and V-rated performance tire growth trend. Michelin says the Control Plus tire addresses the remainder of the mass market.
Together, the Control Plus and Traction T/A tires offer a "one-brand solution" for more than 90% of passenger car customers, adds the company.
