Delphi's O'Neal elected to Goodyear board

Rodney O'Neal has been elected to the board of directors of the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. He is president of Delphi Corp.'s Dynamics, Propulsion, Thermal & Interior Sector.

O'Neal's election brings the size of Goodyear's board to 10 members, nine of whom are independent.

O'Neal is a 33-year veteran of the auto industry and was elected a Delphi vice president and president of its Interior Systems business when the auto parts maker was incorporated in 1998. Delphi was spun off from General Motors Corp. in 1999. He was named executive vice president and president of Delphi's Safety, Thermal and Architecture Sector in 2000.

In his current position, which he has held since 2003, O'Neal is also responsible for Delphi's operations in Europe and South America and serves as executive champion for its Ford Motor Co. customer team. He is a member of the Delphi Strategy Board, the company's top internal policy-making group.
