Two Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. executives were chosen by Profiles in Diversity Journal magazine as "Women of Initiative."
Kathleen Geier, senior vice president of human resources, and Stephanie Wernet, vice president of information technology, were featured in the second annual edition of "Stories from the Highest-ranking Women in Corporations and Government Organizations in America Today."
The article appears in the magazine's November/December 2003 issue.
Profiles in Diversity Journal says Geier's educational and occupational background were instrumental in shaping her diversity beliefs. Her degrees in biology and psychology help her to "create an inclusive workplace that goes far beyond looking at race and gender issues," the magazine said.
The magazine also gave Wernet high marks for her ability to keep Goodyear on top of rapidly changing technology.
