Nominations open for 2004 Tire Dealer of the Year

Nominations are now open for Modern Tire Dealer magazine's 2004 Tire Dealer of the Year award.

If you know of a deserving independent tire dealer whose business practices and community participation are an inspiration to others, let us hear about it.

Simply fill out an entry form found by clicking on the flashing icon on our Web home page. The form also can be found through the "Community" line in the menu. Or fill out an entry form in issues of Modern Tire Dealer.

An independent panel of judges will consider five elements when examining the entries. They are:

* the dealer's business success;

* marketing skills;

* management skills;

* industry knowledge; nad

* community involvement.

The 2004 Tire Dealer of the Year will be featured as the cover story for MTD's September issue as well as receive $1,000 for his or her favorite charity.

Since the creation of the Tire Dealer of the Year award in 1993, MTD has donated nearly $100,000 to a wide variety of worthy causes. As an example, 2003 Tire Dealer of the Year John Marshall, head of Grismer Tire Co. in Dayton, Ohio, donated money to the Salvation Army and Chaminade-Julienne High School, his alma mater.
