Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. has received three supplier awards from Toyota Motor Corp.
The honors include Toyota's Global Contribution Award for Goodyear's supply performance at 15 of the auto manufacturer's plants, plus a "Value Award-Superior" for the Akron, Ohio-based tiremaker's tire development on Toyota Corolla and Camry cars.
In addition, Toyota Motor Manufacturing North America Inc. awarded Goodyear with a Certificate of Achievement for delivery performance during 2001 earlier today.
"With Goodyear's two main technical centers --- in Akron and Luxembourg -- working closely with Sumitomo Rubber Industries' technical center in Kobe, Japan, we are better able to meet Toyota's development requirements around the world," says Bryan Kinnamon, Goodyear's vice president, original equipment for North America.
