St. John, New Brunswick-based Coast Tire & Auto Service Ltd. will acquire Goodyear Tire Canada Inc.'s tire service operations in the Maritime Provinces, effective April 1, 2002.
The deal includes Goodyear commercial outlets in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, and Bathurst, New Brunswick, plus a retread plant.
Goodyear Canada will become a Coast Tire minority shareholder.
The 19-store Coast Tire will continue to operate under the Coast Tire/Goodyear banner.
In other Coast Tire news, dealership President and CEO Malcolm Baxter has agreed to sell the company to current Coast Tire Vice President and General Manager Ron Outerbridge.
Coast Tire employs 200 people and has operations in every major Maritimes market.
