Bridgestone/Firestone Venezuela plant reopens

Dec. 7, 2005

Bridgestone/Firestone's plant in Valencia, Venezuela, is building tires again following a 12-day shutdown.

"The plant was shut down on Nov. 25 due to an internal dispute between rival leaders of the labor union," says a spokesman for Bridgestone Americas Holding Inc.

"This disagreement was over union leadership issues and is not a dispute between the union and the company."

Production resumed yesterday.
