SEMA, DAY FOUR: TIA, Goodyear team up for commercial training

Nov. 3, 2005

Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. commercial tire dealerships will now be able to participate in a series of exclusive Tire Industry Association (TIA) Commercial Tire Service (CTS) Technician Training and Certification classes.

Ninety-six classs will be held in 48 cities throughout 2006, say TIA officials.

Each city will host back-to-back, one-day seminars in which techs with at least six months of experience can receive TIA certification.

TIA instructors will administer the program. Goodyear will handle registration.

Classes also are available to Goodyear's Truckwise locations.

TIA representatives have not entered into formal discussions with other tire manufacturers about implementing similar programs with them.
